However, riding through the challenging terrain of Ladakh requires careful planning and preparation. In this article, we will provide you with an itinerary and cost estimate for a bike tour in Ladakh.


The cost of a Leh Ladakh bike trip package can vary depending on the number of days, type of bike, and the level of comfort and luxury you require. On average, a 7-10 day trip can cost anywhere between INR 25,000 to INR 40,000 per person. This usually includes the cost of bike rental, fuel, accommodation, food, and permits.

1. Bike Rental: The cost of renting a bike in Leh can range from INR 800 to INR 2000 per day, depending on the type of bike.

2. Fuel: Thetotal distance covered during the tour is approximately 500 km. The cost of fuel can range from INR 2000 to INR 3000 depending on the type of bike and fuel efficiency.

3. Accommodation: The cost of accommodation can range from INR 800 to INR 5000 per night, depending on the type of accommodation. Tent camps are the cheapest option, while luxury hotels are the most expensive.

4. Food: The cost of food can range from INR 200 to INR 1000 per meal, depending on the type of restaurant you choose.

5. Permits: Foreign tourists need to obtain an inner Line Permit to visit certain areas in Ladakh. The permit costs INR 600 per person.

6. Miscellaneous: You may also need to spend on additional expenses such as entry fees to monasteries, attractions, bike maintenance and emergency expenses.

1. Itinerary:

Here’s a sample itinerary for a 7-day Leh Ladakh bike trip:

Day 1

Arrival in Leh and acclimatization: upon arrival in Leh, the capital of Ladakh, you will check your hotel and rest for the day to acclimatize to the high altitude.

Day 2

Local sightseeing in Leh: On the second day, you will explore the city of Leh and visit some of the famous Buddhist monasteries and landmarks such as the Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Magnetic Hill and Hemis Monastery.

Day 3

Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La pass (18,380 ft): On day three, you will start your bike journey towards the Nubra Valley, which is located at an altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level. The journey will take approximately six hours, and you will pass through the Khardung La Pass, which is one of the highest motorable passes in the world. 

Day 4: Pangong Tso Lake to Nubra Valley

On day four, you will continue your journey to Pangong Tso lake, which is situated at an altitude of 14, 270 feet above  sea level. You will pass through the Chang La Pass, which is the third-highest motorable pass in the world. Upon arrival at Pangong Tso Lake, you will spend the night in a tent camp. 

Day 5: Pangong Tso Lake to Leh

On day five, you will begin your journey back to Leh. You will pass through the Chang La Pass again and reach Leh by evening. Here you can visit the Shey Monastery.

Day 6: Leh to Kargil

On the final day of your tour, you will depart from Leh with memories that will last a lifetime. Here you will visit the Lamayuru monastery and the moonland. 

Day 7: Kargil to Leh via Magnetic Hill and Hall of Fame museum

On these seven days, you will be able to visit most major places in Ladakh.
